Moving in day was chaos. I didn’t know which room I was going to sleep in, never mind who the gas and electricity provider was. The moment I heard grown-up words like invoices, energy and meter readings, I switched off and turned on Youtube and down the rabbit hole I went. I was more interested in beer and pizza than utility bills and payments.

Glide made the transition from living at home to uni life smooth! You may have just made a whole bunch of new friends but here’s why I think Glide should be every student’s bestie:

IT’S FAIR

Instead of worrying about who was going to pay what, I was only responsible for my own share. The occasional passive aggressive note about replacing the bog roll or washing dirty dishes appeared, but I didn’t have to chase my housemates for money. This created a stress-free zone where I could chill and focus on more important things, like trying to beat my housemates at 32 races of Mario Kart or choosing what kind of pasta I was going to make for tea.

IT’S SIMPLE

Juggling assignment deadlines, whilst maintaining a social life, was a difficult enough task without adding multiple payment dates to the mix! My sleep schedule was out of whack, I ran on caffeine fumes and my head was full of important info. Glide made life simple by splitting the monthly costs into one single bill for each of us. They provided the gas, electricity and broadband and managed the water and TV licence! When I took my afternoon nap after pulling an all-nighter, I could rest easy, knowing that there was one less complication I had to deal with.

IT SAVES TIME

Having one monthly bill rather than several meant that I could get out there and live my best life! I had time to tuck into a cheeky sausage roll, binge watch the latest Netflix show, share memes with my friends and escape my hectic uni schedule. Less time worrying about bill deadlines meant more time procrastinating the heaps of assignment work I probably should have been working on…

YOU’RE NOT LEFT OUT IN THE COLD

Onesies aren’t just a fashion statement; they’re a lifestyle. Me and my mate once turned up to a seminar still wearing them from the night before! But we weren’t reliant on them for warmth during the winter months. Glide estimated how much energy our household would use. This meant we didn’t have to worry about putting the heating on and I could make a guilt free chicken & mushroom pot noodle.

IT’S PAPERLESS

Glide’s paperless billing system made plenty of room for the never-ending pile of takeaway menus that arrived through our door (we definitely needed 30 pieces of fried chicken).
My online Glide account was a click away and was as easy to use as ordering my Friday night take away. Checking payments, adding meter readings and viewing how much energy we were using was easy as apple pie…which came free with the chicken!

If you’re moving into a student house and bills are causing you a headache, then give Glide a go! It’s simple and it worked for me!
