Uni is all taking a chance on different experiences, its a step into finding out all about yourself and trying new things. On that note lets find out what Universities have to offer. Lets dive into some of the funnest and out there sounding societies at University of Birmingham.

Brum Dine With Me

Based off the reality-TV show, the society has a similar format of hosting a party in small groups and scoring each other. So, why not show off your masterclass cooking skills by joining Brum Dine with me. The society places you in a group of 4-5 strangers and over the course of 6 weeks you will host a dinner party which will be scored at the end of each night. And if you didn’t enjoy any of their cooking at the end of the semester everyone gets together to enjoy a meal out!

UOB BAD FILM SOCIETY

If you’re a lover of things that are so bad its good, then you will love this society. Established in 2016, the society that is said to be beloved and least essential! The UOB bad film society relishes in watching cult crummy classics like The Room and Sharknado and diving into bizarre foreign oddities. The society explains they are a small intimate group where everyone is welcome whether by yourself or you and all of your housemates!

 

Drag

With the cultural phenomenon that is Ru Pauls Drag Race in everyone view, it makes sense to start a group to gain a wider understanding and share the love of the art of drag culture.

The society wants its members to be inspired by each other and share their creative outlets and admire each others mutual love for drag!

DocSOC

DocSoc is a perfect place for all you Whovians to join in the discussion of all things Doctor Who. They run events every Tuesday during term which ranges from watching episodes of old and new era Who and run quizzes, pizza nights and more.

They’re a welcoming society whether you’re an avid Doctor Who fan or just curious about what all the fuss is about!
