An iconic venue needs world-class connectivity
OVO Arena Wembley hosts multiple and varied large-scale events throughout the year, recently including hospitality for the UEFA Champions League Final as well as prestigious Esports championships.
Due to the scale and demands of such events, the OVO Arena, managed by ASM Global, needed to upgrade the existing internet speed and supply capacity to accommodate the connectivity required by their clients. Low latency, high-speed connections, and above all flexibility, were paramount.
The challenge
The OVO Arena required an upgrade in internet speed and capacity to accommodate the connectivity demands of their events. The existing setup, with a maximum 1Gbit/s, was becoming inadequate for both their staff and event requirements. The process for temporarily upgrading connectivity was time-consuming, and admin-heavy, often having to obtain multiple quotes from suppliers for each client.
The delivery
Before the upgrade, the client relied on a 1 Gbit/s line, predominantly for staff use, and would have to order ad hoc upgrades or outsourced connections for large events. Glide’s upgrade provided the OVO Arena with the autonomy to manage their connectivity, significantly reducing costs, and simplifying processes for their clients.
OVO Arena had explored other ISPs for comparison, but Glide’s pre-existing infrastructure and competitive pricing made them the obvious choice. The seamless upgrade ensured minimal disruption, allowing the OVO Arena to take, and in turn offer, a superior service.
