Salary: £45 – 70 K per annum plus commission, bonus and car allowance.

The role:

Reporting to the Head of Pre-Sales, an exciting and rewarding opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Solution Architect to evolve and shape Glide’s solution architecture practice. Working in collaboration with the sales team, the postholder will:

  • Support the sales teams’ opportunities in securing new wins.
  • Act as the technical authority when supporting the sales team and have the ability to understand the customers’ requirements and design this into the Glide solutions.
  • Understanding the commercial boundaries in order to design the Glide solutions to be profitable and effective.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Glide’s portfolio.
  • Support the Solution Architects as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders through solutions sale cycle.
  • Provide technical consultancy/presales support of bids and tenders for specified sales opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Sales Team, attending customers meetings (physical and virtual), and assist in qualifying the prospective client’s suitability for solution offerings when required.
  • Create and build high level designs (HLD) for Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, Wireless Networks on both cabling and switching.
  • Create and build HLD’s for (F)IRS, IoT, VOIP systems.
  • Build Proposals and BoM’s (Bill of Materials) for all solutions.
  • Conduct and coordinate any Pre-Sales site surveys and activities where needed.
  • Assist in the creation and review of internal product documentation and technical marketing collateral.
  • Support the Product & Marketing team on the introduction of new products to market.
  • Strive to provide new innovative services and solutions and refinement of the existing portfolio.

Skills and experience:

  • A Self-starter able to liaise with key stakeholders at all levels throughout the business.
  • Well organised, methodical, and thorough to ensure accuracy of design and costings.
  • Possess a high level of presentation, written and verbal communication skills and be able to operate autonomously with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to communicate complexity into .
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to produce clear and concise documentation are paramount for this role.
  • Must also be able to operate under pressurised conditions in a professional manner.
  • Good with numbers and spreadsheets as often numbers will need to be presented broken down in different ways.
  • Able to work under pressure as deadlines can be challenging
  • 5 years plus experience in a similar role
  • A background in the ISP sector would be desirable.

Training / Certifications or demonstrable experience

  • CWNA
  • CCNP
  • NSE 4-6

Product knowledge and/or experience

  • Ruckus, Aruba, Meraki, IO
  • Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Mikrotik
  • Adtran, Nokia

Technology knowledge and/or experience

  • WAN/LAN/WLAN
  • MPLS, SD-WAN, IP
  • Firewalls and Security
  • PON (GPON, XGSPON)
  • IoT (Zigbee, BLE, Lora)
  • Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, VMware, Hypervisor

Other knowledge and/or experience

  • Fibre and copper network design experience across multiple verticals
  • Designing network technologies around WAN, LAN and WiFi
  • Usage of Visio, Lucid and other tools for drawing schematic diagrams
  • Usage of WiFi design tools such as Ekahau
  • Familiarity with CAD viewers for reviewing client schematics and plans
  • Experience with HLD creation
  • An excellent understanding of Microsoft products such as Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Ability to design (F)IRS systems is desirable.
