We thought that if we organised a charity football tournament we would have the advantage. After all, we had two teams entered and would have plenty of time to build the perfect team and train, train, train.

But alas, it wasn’t meant to be and Team Glide didn’t even make it to the semi final of the Birmingham Business Six-a-Side Football Tournament.

Congratulations go to Birmingham digital agency Class Creative, who beat marketing and events maestros Big Cat in the final.

The tournament raised £1,450 for The Cardiomyopathy Association, which provides support for families affected by the heart muscle disease cardiomyopathy.

Convocco, Big Cat, Class Creative, Red Lion, Purple Frog, Clay Rogers, Glide, ROAR and DLA Piper all battled it out for a chance to take the title.

Purple Frog and Clay Rogers made it through to the semi finals on goal difference, with Glide losing out to Clay Rogers by just one goal.

Despite their overall success, winners Class Creative were outplayed earlier in the tournament by Purple Frog, who beat them 4-0 in the group stages.

Thanks to the Red Lion for providing food for everyone on the day. This helped us raise even more money for The Cardiomyopathy Association.
