Here at Glide we’re all about keeping life simple.

But it’s also important to us to ensure that we can do our bit to be greener. That’s why we work with Ecotricity – Britain’s first and leading green energy supplier.

As a utilities provider, we think it’s only right that we do what we can to help look after the environment. That’s why we teamed up with Ecotricity back in 2013 to supply 100% green electricity to our customers’ homes. And they’re now also supplying thousands of our customers with green gas too.

Ecotricity make their own electricity and green gas through wind farms and Gas mills, which use renewable resources rather than burning fossil fuels. They’re on a mission to eventually displace fossil fuels from the National Grid to help secure an Energy Independent Britain.

The company have also just secured first place for the second year running in the 2015 Energy Customer Satisfaction Survey, conducted by consumer association Which? They have been praised for not only having the lowest number of complaints in the industry, but also for their simple tariff structure and for providing electric vehicle owners with a discount.

They also promise their customers ‘Frack-Free Gas’ – an industry first. Fracking is a process used to extract gas which involves drilling down into the earth and using a high pressure water mixer to inject sand and chemicals into shale rock.

There has been much controversy surrounding this extraction process, with environmental concerns about the damage and risks involved.

Ecotricity give the people of Britain a chance to be conscientious in their decision when choosing their supplier. By producing their own Green gas, they hope that their efforts to use renewable resources will encourage a greener Britain, whilst they continue to turn their customers’ bills into further investment in developing these resources.

What are you and your business doing to be green? Do you support this idea that Britain should switch to using renewable resources? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
