Finding that 21p cheese sandwich was the highlight of your day and now it’s time to “do work”…more like skiving your mates Netflix. It’s ok, he’s cool with it.

But there comes a time in a man’s life when you’d prefer your vegetables to be fresher than your dance moves on Tuesday’s ’10p-a-drink-night’. And there’s nothing worse than that dreaded feeling of checking your bank balance, only to be told you’re overdrawn and wondering how you got there?

Invest in a whole house TV licence as daytime television consumes your life. Communal areas such as the living room, kitchen or bathroom (toilet fifa, don’t ask!) are all covered by a TV licence. Your room in a house share is more than likely not, so check with your landlord to make sure.

Obvious one here, use blankets instead of switching on the heating. If you’re cold, wrap up and don’t use electrical heaters as they burn through a week’s worth of power in an hour. Cuddle that hot water bottle until you become at one with it.

A new, recent, discovery I made is Uber. It’s a great taxi service which applies charges to your card rather than you having to pay them cash, as some taxi drivers can rip you off with extortionate fares. With Uber, you can split the fare with friends and you get £10 free just for signing up. Even better, if you recommend a friend you both get £10 free. Winning at its finest.

Get a railcard now. If you feel the need to beg your parents for money in person the this is the deal for you. Its £30 for the year and it saves you so much money.

Last but not least – and something I still use as a working man – is Groupon. Groupon is the reason I’m having my first holiday in 4 years. Groupon is the reason I never want to get out of bed because my memory foam mattress calls to me. Groupon…you get the picture. I use it daily.
Well there you have it, that’s my list of money saving tips. I saved loads using these, hopefully you will too!
