Eating the right foods during your exams could be the helping hand you need to power through. Throw away the crisps, chocolate and fizzy drinks and stock up on brain foods. Unsure where to start? We have found 5 foods that you need to get your hands on:

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter? who would have thought this delight could be a brain food. Well, due to the high protein, healthy fats and vitamin E which help towards a healthy brain function, this is one of the best foods to eat. If you want to eat the whole jar with spoon, we wont judge!

Oily Fish

We all know fish is healthy (unless covered in batter from a chippy), but the omega 3 in it is great for brain function. So if your brain is feeling all frazzled from revision, cook something healthy up with lots of oily fish. If you can’t bare eating it, take some cod liver oil vitamins.

Eggs

Protein and B vitamins are pretty important for keeping up a healthy lifestyle and eggs are high in both! Scrabbled, poached, boiled, anyway you like especially at breakfast as eggs will fill you up more so than cereal.

Fresh Fruit

Rather than reaching for chocolate for your your sweet fix, grab some fresh fruit instead. Darker fruits like blueberry’s are the most beneficial as they have more antioxidants, which can only be a good thing right?

All things green

If you’re parents are anything like mine, it was probably drilled into you from a young age that ‘you must eat your greens’. It’s annoying that parents are always, OK, sometimes right. Eating your greens especially darker greens like kale and spinach will help you focus on your exams and improve your memory as they’re filled with vitamin K, B6 and B12.

Reaching for the healthy foods will make you feel so much better than binging on junk. Make sure you’re fueling up on the right stuff to allow you to be more focused through your revision and exams! You got this!
